Port of Fleetwood

Environment and waste: Fleetwood

The Port of Fleetwood has no published waste reception facilities information and no published environmental policy. That is the position inherited on 18/09/2026. It is a gap rather than a decision.

No environmental or waste charge is levied at Fleetwood. If you have read about a Port Environmental Charge for garbage reception, that is the Port of Silloth, which is a different port and a different harbour authority. See environment and waste at Silloth.

What is on the ground today

Fleetwood marina has ship waste disposal points, waste oil disposal, recycling points and spill kits. See the marina facilities page. There is no published plan covering any of them, and no published statement of what a commercial vessel may land at the quay.

What will be published

Within the first quarter of operation, that is by 18/12/2026:

Waste reception facilities

What can be landed, where, how it is booked, what it costs and how a vessel gives notice.

Oil spill response

A summary of the arrangements only. The oil spill contingency plan itself is never published: it is an operational document.

Environmental policy

The environmental policy of FJ Ports (Fleetwood) Ltd.

Invasive species and biosecurity

What a boat owner or a visiting vessel is asked to do. This matters more at a marina than at a commercial quay, because it is leisure hulls that move between waters.

Update coming

Port waste reception facilities plan, Fleetwood. This is being confirmed and will be published here.

What will never be published

  • The port security plan and any ISPS material.
  • The detailed marine risk assessments and audit reports. That they exist, and their review cycle, will be published. Their contents will not.
  • Berth holder personal data, including any list tying a named person or a vessel to a berth.
