The terms on which this website is provided. This website is not a navigational aid and must not be used as one.

1. Who runs this website

The Port of Silloth is operated by FJ Ports (Silloth) Ltd, company number 15559785. These are two separate companies. Where information on this site relates to one port, it is published by and binds only the company for that port.

2. Navigational and operational information: read this

This website is not a navigational aid and must not be used as one

Notices to Mariners, tide times, surveys, depths, port plans, berth plans and operational information are published here for information. They do not replace up to date official charts and nautical publications corrected from ADMIRALTY Notices to Mariners, the master's own judgement and the proper practice of seamanship, or direct contact with the harbour office or harbour master.

Conditions in a tidal harbour change. Depths shift, marks move and are damaged, and information published here may be out of date before you read it.

If you are in any doubt, contact the harbour office before you enter, leave or move within the harbour. See contact Fleetwood or contact Silloth.

Nothing on this website relieves a master, owner or pilot of any obligation under any byelaw, direction, notice, or any provision of the Merchant Shipping Acts or the Collision Regulations.

3. Documents published here

Some documents on this site were issued by Associated British Ports before 18 September 2026 and continue in force under The Ports of Fleetwood and Silloth (Transfer of Undertaking) Harbour Revision Order 2026. Each is published with a statement explaining how it is to be read. Read that statement with the document.

Where a document carries a date, that is the date it was issued, not the date it was checked. Where a document has been superseded we mark it as superseded and keep it available so that the record can be followed.

4. What we do and do not promise

We take reasonable care to keep this site accurate and available. We do not promise that it will be available without interruption, that it will be free of errors, or that the information on it is complete or up to date at any given moment. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of this site at any time.

5. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or anything else which it would be unlawful for us to exclude or limit. Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, information on this website.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Any term of these terms which is unfair within the meaning of Part 2 of that Act is not binding on you.

Your rights and obligations as a berth holder, a port user or a customer are set out in your contract with us, not in these terms.

6. Using this website

You may use this site for lawful purposes and for your own use, and you may print or download material for that purpose. You must not:

  • use the site in a way that damages it, interferes with it, or restricts anyone else's use of it;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, any account, or any server or system connected to it;
  • introduce anything malicious.

Attempting to gain unauthorised access to a computer system is an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and we will report it.

7. Accounts

Where you hold an account with us you must keep your password confidential and must not let anyone else use your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it. We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken.

8. Intellectual property

The content of this site belongs to us or to our licensors, except where marked otherwise. Some documents published here were originally issued by Associated British Ports and are published under the arrangements described at part 3. Byelaws, statutes and statutory instruments are published as public documents.

You may reproduce Notices to Mariners and safety information for the purpose of safe navigation, which is what they are for.

9. Linking

You may link to any page on this site. You must not present the link in a way that suggests any association or endorsement that does not exist. Where we link to other websites, we do so for information. We have no control over them and are not responsible for their content.

10. Privacy and cookies

See our privacy notice and our cookie policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The version on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies. The date at the top shows when it last changed.

12. Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the law of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, or of your right to bring proceedings there.
